Roger del Moral: Coping with Natural Disasters

Tuesday, September 18th @ 7:30pm
Town Hall
1119 8th Ave. (Downtown Seattle)

It seems like every year we become more aware of natural disasters: hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunami’s, etc. And always lurking in the background is the specter of global warming and how we are affecting the climate. Will the extreme weather get worse? How will we cope as a species? Roger del Moral, a biology professor at UW, is giving a talk on the subject at Town Hall this week. He’ll discuss how we should be reacting to these disasters, in a way that benefits us and other species for the long-term.

Seattle Flickrites Photostroll

Saturday, September 15th
Kubota Gardens
9817 55th Ave S (Seattle)

The Seattle Flickrites group is probably one of the most active photography groups in the country. On Saturday they’re doing a “photostroll” around the beautiful Kubota Gardens in South Seattle. There will be a guided tour and time afterwards to wander. And with over 40 people signed up, there will be plenty of other folks to compare notes and techniques with.
