Tech Industry Night at a Goth Club

Monday, April 21 at 9pm
Mercury at Machinewerks
1009 E Union St

Do you know about “high concept”? That’s the idea that you can describe the concept of a movie in 10 words or fewer. Farm boy defeats empire… in space. Giant shark terrorizes small beach town. Snakes on a plane.

I think “Tech Industry Night at a Goth Club” is about as high concept as it gets for events. Search Engine Optimization Analyst Tom Schmitz will be spinning the dark grooves tonight for all comers. Dress in black or appropriate dark attire and say the fiendish secret password, SQL Injection Attack, for $2 admission. See the calendar, below, for more details.

nPost Networking Event / DEMO

Tuesday, April 22nd @ 6:30pm
Columbia City Theater
4916 Rainier Avenue S.

The startup job listing site nPost.com is having another one of its tech community networking events. If you’re an entrepreneur, VC, angel investor, or just general techie… the nPost.com events serve up some of the best networking opportunities around Seattle. This time around, however, the hosts are adding something a little bit different: a DEMO-style set of presentations where 5 local companies get time in front of the whole crowd to pitch their business / service / idea / whatever. If you want a chance to present your product, the submission deadline is April 16th. Otherwise, simply put your name on the attendee list to reserve a spot at the event. The list is almost full, so sign up soon.
