Liz - That's a great idea, and it's definitely something that Justin and I talked about. If there's enough interest, we're open to trying a different approach with the site.

Why not adopt an open model where anyone can post blog entries and edit the Google Calendar? New moderator/owner types would appear, methinks.

FYI, I think there was a typo in the original tweet: the 22nd is Friday night, not Saturday. Oh, how I wish it were Saturday.

In anticipation of his visit at the Ballard library, Cory talked with us a bit on the phone and we've posted it on Shelf Talk - the library blog. What a terrific fellow, and it is great to see Little Brother doing so very well on the charts. We should start up an annual 'read Cory Doctorow on your computer while pretending to work' day.

Thanks for keeping up the advocacy for Pluto's planet status. I wish I could have been there, but Seattle is a long way from New Jersey. There is a strong movement among both professional astronomers and lay people to get the IAU's ridiculous demotion overturned. In August, Dr. Mark Sykes will be hosting a conference on this issue, "The Great Planet Debate." More information can be found at http://gpd.jhuapl.edu/
