Almost everyone in IT has stories of costly and complex system migrations. This Wednesday, Walker Hamilton will be talking to the folks at Refresh Seattle about migrating the vast Content Management System at Digial Web Magazine. He’ll be covering a lot of the technical issues like databases, php, and Cake as well as the general issues and gotchas that cropped up in the process.
The following Tuesday (October 30th), Jeff Croft will be talking about the different “layers” of web development: structure (html), presentation (css), and behavior (javascript). Both events will be followed by drinks and merriment at The Bal Mar, across the street from the library.
