One of the best tech events of this past spring was hosted by Nathan Kaiser, CEO of nPost.com. Nathan has put together a follow-up event (more to come later this summer and fall), with a new batch of local startups that will be on hand to demo their products. The list includes Catch the Best, Eyejot, Timelope, HomeSavvi and ClayValet, plus one or two others. It looks like there’s still room on the registration page to sign up – the event is free, and if the last one was any indication, it should be a blast!

For almost a year now, Andy Sack (formerly of Judy’s Book) has been organizing a Seattle Open Coffee for local tech entrepreneurs. This is simply a low-key weekly meeting, for chit-chat and networking. Generally, the crowd is somewhere between 8 and 15.

This coming Tuesday, the job board website nPost is going to be having one of their local networking events. The site specializes in tech startups and entrepreneurial positions… so you can expect a lot of VC folks, investors and fellow entrepreneurs. It should be a great opportunity to mix and mingle and get to know some of the other folks in the Seattle tech scene.

The good folks over at Biznik are still putting together some of the best “indie business” networking events around. This Saturday, Lyle Rudensey is going to be hosting an event for those entrepreneur-types interested in biodiesel and other alternative fuels. Anyone who is interested will get the chance to check out a local biodiesel co-op and mingle with other locals interested in clean energy.

The December Seattle Lunch 2.0 networking event just got announced, and it’s already filling up fast! This month it’s being hosted by the network platform company F5. Scott Berkun, author of The Myths of Innovation and The Art of Project Management, will be speaking on design and innovation. If you’ve been missing these events, or not signing up in time, then now’s your chance.

Are you working in – or interested in – the environment or sustainability? Meet up with the local Seattle Greendrinks group on the second Tuesday of every month. Tonight, they’ll meet at the Theo Chocolate factory in Fremont. Greendrinks offers a casual way for people in the environmental field to get together, exchange ideas, or just relax and unwind after hours with others of like interests. “Business Networking That Doesn’t Suck.” That’s Biznik’s tagline, and I can vouch for it. Having made a couple of brief attempts at being my own boss, I can only say that I wish Biznik had been around earlier. But you, you lucky solopreneur… Biznik is here for you, and you should take advantage of that. In fact, why not register tonight and head over to the Technology Happy Hour at Raven’s Gallery Erotic? (An unusual venue for a business networking event, perhaps, but there you go.) The host, Data Lodge’s William Fulton says you don’t need to be interested in technology to attend, and in fact there’s already a diverse list of attendees filling up the RSVP list. Funky, casual, low-pressure… what a great way to connect with potential business partners and clients.

Refresh Seattle has been putting together some great events this summer for web developers and designers, and that trend continues for August. On Monday, Matt May (developer and technologist for Adobe) will be presenting on Web Accessibilty. He’s actually breaking the hour down into three separate “mini talks”: 1) a brief overview of the subject, 2) the future of web accessiblity, and 3) accessibility hacks. After the event at the Ballard Library, everyone is heading over to The BalMar for drinks. Space is limited, so put your name on the list at Upcoming.org.

If you’ve been dying to get to a Seattle Lunch 2.0 event, but keep missing the sign-up window, then now is your chance. Josh Maher has announced the next event, which will be at the Adobe offices on Thursday, September 21st. It looks like they’re still fleshing out the details, but the topic of conversation will most likely be Flex. And of course lots of networking and meet-n-greet. There’s still about plenty of open slots, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t sign up fast!
