After a bit of a hiatus, Brady Forrest and O’Reilly Radar are bringing Ignite back to the Seattle area. This has proven to be one of the most dynamic and interesting local tech events in recent memory. In the general format (also known as pecha kucha), participants have 5 minutes to present 20 slides, with no control over how they’re shown and sometimes the order they’re shown in. This is a great way to get an idea for some of the more interesting projects going on around Seattle. Talk submissions are open until February 10th, but the earlier you get yours in, the more likely you will be to present.

Puyallup Fairgrounds?
Next weekend the Austin Maker Faire is happening down in Texas. This is actually the third Faire, and the first one to happen outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. Why does this matter to you, faithful Seattlite? Well, I have a proposal…
What would it take to have a Maker Faire up here in Seattle? We’ve got the makers: just check out any meeting with Dorkbot or Ignite or the Seattle Robotics Society or the Hazard Factory or the Burning Man Folks. And we’ve certainly got the fairgrounds. So, I’m opening up this thread. How do we make it happen? Who do we have to talk to? Add your thoughts and comments to this post, and let’s see if we can get something started.
