All over the world
World Usability Day was founded in 2005 to raise public awareness about the need to make the services and products important to human life easier to access and simpler to use. The 2006 World Usability Day saw some 225 events in 175 cities and 35 countries, and over 40,000 attendees and volunteers participated.
This year, Seattle’s doing its part to make WUD even bigger. With topics inspired by this year’s focus on usability and healthcare, Microsoft will host a daylong conference in Redmond entitled Best Practices for “People Ready” Solutions. The conference will also be webcast via Microsoft Office Live Meeting.
Across the lake, the University of Washington kicks off an evening of WUD with a tour of its usability lab from 3:00 to 5:00, followed by speakers and socializing late into the evening.
